The Lemon Day School was founded in 1945 and since its inception has used the phrase "believe, create, grow" as its motto and looks inscribed on the top of the shield of the institution, illustrated with an open book that is the source of knowledge, an arrow pointing the way to reach wisdom, symbolized by a star; and also bordered by two branches of laurel that represent the triumph.
