The Belmopan Comprehensive School is a Government secondary school for boys and girls normally between the ages of 12 and 18. It was established in 1970 and began classes on September 14 of that year. In 1977, the first Principal, Sr. Sarita, resigned and was replaced by Mr. Michael Price. Mr. Price retired in 1999. The third Principal was Mr. Rudolph Anthony who took over in 1999. At the end of the second term in 2000, Mr.Alejandro Salazar, the then vice-principal took the rein for a few months. In August 2001, Mrs. Barrette Belisle became the Principal until June of 2003; in July of the same year Mr. Salazar came out of retirement to become Principal once again.
