The University of Chemical Technology in Prague (UCT Prague) is a Czech public higher education institution of a university type with self-governing competence, which focuses on teaching and research in the fields of chemistry, chemical technology, biochemistry, Biotechnology and material engineering. At present, the ICT Prague offers students study in accredited degree programs in Bachelor (Bc.), Master (Ing.) And Ph.D. (Ph.D.). In addition to traditional chemical industries, the school also focuses on research into biotechnology, nanotechnology, sustainable growth, new energy sources, ecology, and food. New fields include pharmacochemistry, biomechanics and molecular engineering. VŠCHT Prague is based in a university campus in Prague 6-Dejvice, which she shares with CTU in Prague. The ICHT is located in three buildings A, B and C. Buildings A and B are located in Technická Street and building C is nearby Studentská Street. The University of Chemical Technology in Prague, as a direct successor of Prague Polytechnics, is one of the oldest technical chemistry schools in the world and the largest educational institution of its kind in the Central European region with over 200 years tradition of teaching technical chemistry. The school is a member of the European University Association (EUA), the European Federation of National Engineering Associations (FEANI) and the International Society for Engineering Education (IGIP).
