On January 13, 1937, the then Federal District, a group of influential personalities, Brazil and the United States, gathered in the Itamaraty Palace, made a commitment to contribute to the spread of the culture and language of America and founded the Institute Brazil-United States. This meeting produced the corresponding minutes, and so Ibeu was born. Modestly installed on Mexico Street in the city center, Ibeu initially hosted eighteen students, three teachers who served English and Portuguese classes for foreigners. Today, as a result of the permanent dedication to academic excellence, we are 22 branches, serving thousands of students with the latest in equipment and technical education.
